Crispian Knight is our Managing Director and has worked for US-based Melling since 2008. Crispian was part of the acquisition team that negotiated the purchase of Performance Springs in March 2020. Crispian has worked in manufacturing for 30 years – predominantly in the automotive sector. He started his career in purchasing, then project management, sales and management. Crispian has been involved in acquisitions, divestments, closures and new start-ups and has travelled extensively.
Donna Studied at Blackpool & Fylde College and Lancaster University achieving status (FMAAT) in Association of Accounting Technician becoming a Fellow Member in 2008, continuing her education with Chartered Institute of Management Accounting and gaining her CIMA Dip. MA in 2012. Donna joined Performance Springs in 2004 and continues in her position as Company Accountant/HR Manager at Melling Performance Springs today. She has 24 years’ experience within the finance engineering industry, which includes 17 years extensive experience in the spring industry specifically.
Phil has been in the spring manufacturing industry for over 20 years. Starting as an apprentice Spring maker at 16 – Phil has a proven track record of managing and improving production processes. Phil thrives on challenges and over the last 2 decades he has delivered numerous projects relative to New product introduction, installation and commissioning of critical Capex projects, industrialisation of high volume automotive projects and developing in-house solutions to complex customer requirements. Outside of his work Phil enjoys Hiking, Motorbiking, Snowboarding and keeping himself busy with domestic DIY projects.
Dave has over 25 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering, working within the machine building sector. He provides both reactive and proactive multiskilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and the facilities infrastructure. Dave ensures operational effectiveness by reducing the mean time between machinery failure and downtime reduction, establishing standard policies and procedures for machine operation, managing continuous improvement, and designing and building bespoke machinery for modern manufacturing procedures.
John started work in the steel wire industry in 1975. Moving from Yorkshire to Lancashire in 1982 he managed to maintain his hobbies of fishing, DIY and playing the guitar while moving into other industries, giving him a broad spectrum of manufacturing experience. Arriving at Performance Springs in 2005 he used his wealth of experience to fill various roles in sales, purchasing, logistics and production support. John brings all of this experience together in his role as Business Support Manager at Melling Performance Springs Ltd.
Our Production Manager, Wojciech Lewek has been in the spring Industry since 2016. Wojciech with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics relocated to the UK in 2002 in pursuit of opportunities to forge a career in engineering and broaden his experiential platform. He has a proven track record of managing production in agile environments/systems producing complex metallic products. In his previous roles, as an engineering supervisor and production manager prior to that, He has also delivered numerous projects relative to design and fabrication of Pressure vessels in Oil and Gas sector. Outside of work, Wojciech is a motor bike enthusiast who also enjoys cooking and experimenting with world cuisines.
