Melling Performance Springs is committed to growth and investment into the skills of our expert workforce, and our state-of-the-art development, testing and production facilities in the North West of England. Along with the support of our sister companies within the Melling Group, we aim to continually innovate and expand our specialist spring manufacturing capabilities.

From humble beginnings employing only 5 people in a small unit located in Preston, the company moved to the present site at Lytham st Annes.
Right from the start the company focus was on supplying a niche quality and engineered product, primarily to customers who demanded, and expected, a high quality component.
The company achieved ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
Northwest Automotive Alliance “Company of the Year” Award.
TS 16949 Automotive Quality Management Approval.

UK Trade & Investment “Passport to Export Award” for Lancashire.
A second site was opened to help meet increased demand along with expansion of the companies Research Technical centre.
Accreditation to ISO ISO14001 Environmental Management standard approval.

Northwest Automotive Alliance “Trade Company of the Year” Award sponsored by UK Trade & Investment.
Development of new and innovative ideas meant that Performance Springs became lead for the "Twister" project. A £1.6M Innovate UK funded project, which had six consortium members, four of which are SMEs.
Performance Springs became one of the first companies in the UK to obtain the IATF 16949 standard which superseded the TS 11949 Automotive standard.
Lean improvements at the main site meant that the company was able to return to a single site and still meet rising demand.
This was recognised in 2018 when the company became finalists for the "Engineering and Manufacturing Company of the Year" at the BIBA Awards.
The company was purchased by Melling Tool Company, USA and renamed Melling Performance Springs.
